Standard Carport Dimensions

With that said, there are some standard dimensions you can keep in mind when planning out your carport design. By starting with these typical carport dimensions and then making changes to fit your needs, you should end up with the perfect storage solution:

• Single carport. If you’re planning to park just one vehicle under your carport, a structure approximately 12’ wide should serve you well.
• Double carport. To make room for two vehicles, you may need to double that single size and move it out to 24’. However, it’s possible to make room for two vehicles with just 20’, or even 18’, depending on the size of the vehicles and how much space you want around them.
• Triple carport. At Carport Kingdom, we classify our Triple Wide carports as ranging in width from 26’ to 30’. We also offer even wider models that can stretch out to 50’ across.

If you have the space available on your property, it’s always better to go a little bit bigger with the width of your carport. You’ll be more comfortable having extra space on each side of the vehicle after you park. You don’t want to feel cramped each time you get in or out.

Remember to Consider Carport Height

The width of your carport is probably the first dimension to consider, but it’s not the only variable in this equation. You also need to factor in the height of your carport’s legs, as this will determine what kinds of vehicles will fit inside. Our carports come with legs as short as 6’ and as tall as 20’.
